OVERVIEW

 

This is a 7 day safari which starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda with 2 gorilla permits (for Parc Nationale des Volcanoes and Bwindi in Uganda) included in the.

Having a chance to see some of the last remaining 880 mountain gorillas in the world is a wonderful experience. It offers you an opportunity to track gorillas two times and thus have a totally different experience with two different gorilla families each in a very unique habitat.

Kibale National Park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. Forest cover, interspersed with patches of grassland and swamp, dominates the northern and central parts of the park on an elevated plateau. The park is home to a total of 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primate including the chimpanzee.

You can choose to start from either Kigali (Rwanda) or Entebbe (Uganda) and end the tour in either cities.

  • Day 1:  Gisozi Genocide Memorial; Drive to Volcanoes National Park. home to Rwanda's mountain gorillas

  • Day 2: Mountain gorilla trek in Parc des Volcanoes

  • Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

  • Day 4: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  • Day 5:  Kibale National Park, East Africa's primate capital

  • Day 6: Chimpanzee trek & other primate trekking in Kibale Forest

  • Day 7:  End tour in either Entebbe or Kigali.

SEASONS

  • January to March: Hot and dry, an excellent time of year to be on safari in Uganda.

  • April and May: Uganda’s long rainy season when many camps are closed. Rains tend to be in the morning and late afternoon.

  • June to September: Temperatures climb rapidly and this is a fantastic time of year for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

  • October to December: Another great time of year to be on safari, you can get some rain in November but temperatures are favourable and conditions are ideal for game viewing.
